Where is Groove?

Groove Family Music is located at 158 Larchmont Avenue at the corner of Addison Street.  We are diagonally across the street from the Chatsworth Elementary School playground.  Directions can be found HERE on our CONTACT page.

What is the bad weather policy?

In the event of severe or dangerous weather, you will be alerted by text/email by 7:30AM if your class is cancelled, postponed or rescheduled.  Any class cancelled by Groove due to extreme weather will be made up.

If you have not already done so, please OPT-IN to receive time sensitive texts from Groove!  

Please be sure your family account is up to date with the best reach information for ALL adults who bring your child to class.  This way we can share information in a timely manner.  

What is the make-up policy?

Families may schedule 3 make-ups for missed classes during a full season registration. 

Please book all make-up classes in advance through our automated MAKE-UP SCHEDULER.  You are encouraged to schedule make-ups in advance for planned absences (vacations, etc) as well.

If a class is cancelled by GROOVE, you will be instructed to either schedule a make-up OR an additional class date will be added to the schedule.

Make-ups are a courtesy and not guaranteed except in the case of a cancelled class.   Make ups do not roll over to the next session.

What is your refund policy?

A full refund is available prior to the start of the class, less a $25 administrative fee. 

After the session has started, families may request a refund prior to the second class.  You will receive a refund for the remaining classes less a $25 administrative fee and the cost of any materials.  

No refunds are available after the second week of class.  Please contact us as soon as possible as refunds will not be granted retroactively.

What should I bring/NOT bring into class?

• Please do NOT bring instruments from home.   

• Park your stroller outside except in the case of rain or snow
  
• Remove your shoes when you enter the studio
  
• Place all personal belongings in a cubby 
  
• Cellphones are not allowed in the classroom for any reason
• Photos and videos are permitted only AFTER the class
  
• Food and beverages are NOT allowed in the music space.  

Why no phones in class?​

We have found that the mere presence of cellphones in our classroom create distraction (for grown-ups), confusion (for kids) and obstacles (for all).  By eliminating cellphones we gain the attention, clarity and freedom needed to spend 45 glorious minutes face-to-face with a loved one. 

At the end of each class, when we gather at the Guitar Wall, you are welcome to take a photo or video of your child. 

​To avoid misunderstandings, please share this information with ALL grown-ups who may be bringing your child to class. Thank you very much!

What is your sibling/guest policy?

• Unregistered sibling visitors to class (10 months and older) must be scheduled in advance by emailing HERE.  

• The sibling fee is $20 which can be paid in cash on-site (preferred) or sent to Venmo @Lesley-Groove. 
  
• ​Siblings are welcome up to 2 times per season.  After that, please purchase a One-At-A-Time single class. 

• Babies (up to 10 months) may accompany a registered sibling to class free of charge.    ​
• Grandparents, parenting partners, etc. are always welcome.  ONE extra visitor at a time, please.
• We cannot accommodate grown-up visitors or siblings at drop-off classes.

Where can I park near Groove?​

There is an abundance of street parking available and 3 parking lots within 2 blocks of Groove.

Gilder Street Lot (off Larchmont Ave between Addison + Boston Post Rd)

Please read signs carefully! Larchmont has recently installed pay stations on streets and in lots surrounding our music studio and the park.   
Yes, they do ticket cars that have not paid or have exceeded the meter.  Groove cannot be held responsible for parking tickets (sorry!)

Do you post my child's image on social media?

On occasion, we photograph or video classes for promotional and archival purposes. When registering for a class at Groove, you give Groove Family Music the right to use your child's image for said purposes. If you prefer to opt out, please the notify office via e-mail.  We will never use your child's name, age or other identifying factor. 

Can Groove come to my child's school?
