Lesley Barovick, Founder/Class Leader: Lesley is a life-long music maker raised in a musical family. Her dad still sings and acts at age 90! When her young family moved from Brooklyn to Larchmont in 2004, she was surprised at the lack of engaging family music programs in her new neighborhood. So Groove was born. In addition to her role at Groove, Lesley is a music specialist at Brooklyn Music Factory, KBLS in Scarsdale and STEM Alliance Coop Camp in Mamaroneck. Since 2018, Lesley has served as song leader for Sanctuary NY alongside Rabbi Bethie Miller. She holds a BMA in voice from the University of Michigan and an MFA in arts management from Brooklyn College. In her professional fundraising career, Lesley was the Director of Development for Jazz at Lincoln Center (with Wynton Marsalis), Playwrights Horizons and Celebrate Brooklyn. She is the proud mama of two 20-somethings who make music (and guitars!). Fun Fact: Lesley sang with Peter, Paul and Mary on The Phil Donahue Show in 1989.
