MINIKEYS TEACHER

JOB DESCRIPTION:

Seeking enthusiastic early childhood educator/musicians with music skills to lead small, game-centric, fluencies-focused  exploration band classes at Groove.  MiniKeys is a playful music class for ages 4 to 6.  Every week we teach kids about melody, rhythm, harmony and songwriting through drum circle, games, singalongs and jamming on the bandstand. Twice a year, we invite family and friends so share some of our favorite class games and songs.

REQUIREMENTS:

• Must love kids and be willing to get silly, be creative and play with them
• ​A belief in the musical potential of every individual
• Minimum of 2 years teaching experience with kids (ages 4+) in a group setting (camp, school, etc)
• Must be creative and excited to learn new curriculum and share ideas with a team
• Must be available for staff meetings and committed to learning online systems
• A commitment to developing relationships with students and families
• Strong communication skills
• Able to commit to consistently teaching every week from September-June

• Must have reliable transportation to/from Groove location. 
  
  

TRAINING + TIME COMMITMENT
in addition to your teaching time, you will be required to participate in the following:

• One-hour weekly virtual meeting with other teachers to share ideas, review online training modules, learn the Lesson Plan arc, review games, etc
• Shadow another teacher in at least one class/week for 4 weeks
• Learn games and songs included in the weekly lesson plan
• Send templated lesson report to parents each week
  
  

HOURS:  
One or more weekday afternoon: 3:15pm - 5:15pm
Optional added Saturday mornings 10:00am - 12:00pm 

COMPENSATION:
$50/45-minute class  
$15/hour for on-line and in-classroom training
