MiniKeys is a DROP-OFF music class expressly designed to match the high energy and lively imaginations of 4 to 6 year old music makers.
MiniKeys unique game-based curriculum keeps students excited, engaged and ready to play music with others. We learn on keyboard (melody), drums (rhythm), guitar + ukulele (harmony) and microphone (voice + lyrics)
Each MiniKeys class has a maximum of 6 students to insure that each kid/bandmate gets plenty of time to PLAY!
MiniKeys was created by the fine, fun folks at the Brooklyn Music Factory. Groove is super psyched to be the very first satellite music studio to offer this program!
A 45-minute weekly class consists of:
Drum Circle Games to enforce basic rhythmic techniques
Sing-Along + Songwriting toencourage basic music techniques
Rock Pit uses full body games called BLAMS (Big Lessons About Music) to teach basic music concepts
MiniKeys Band Stand where each kid gets a chance to practice on every instrument and see how their part fits into the larger band setting
The session ends with a MiniGig where families are invited to hear songs written and performed by the class.
MiniKeys encourages creativity and communication through music by using stories and movement to help kids connect to the musical concepts they're learning.
We firmly believe that the sooner a child learns they can play music with others, the more likely they are to become life-long musicians.
Here is what parents are saying...
Super awesome experience! My 4 year old daughter experienced extremely fun ways of playing different instruments, learning beats, keys on the piano and a short song. By the end she was on the microphone making up a full song with everyone accompanying.
My daughter has fun during her classes and loves the gig approach where she gets to play with other kids!
I absolutely adore this class and the detailed updates that I have received. It makes me feel so connected to my son’s experience. We were so shocked and surprised at his progress- I really wasn't expecting him to do so well during the gig!
