Kids LOVE guitars! But guitars, while popular, are sophisticated instruments that take both time and physical strength to master. The Loog Mini Guitar has justthree strings and narrow neck, making it easy for kids to form chords and play melodies right from the very first try.
WHY ONLY 3-STRINGS? Chords, in their basic form are comprised of 3 notes, so 3 strings is plenty to play songs! By reducing chords to the basic triad (3 note chord), it’s easier and faster for kids to learn to play songs. The Loog's strings are the same as the top 3 strings on a six-string guitar. Everything learned on a Loog can be applied to a regular sized guitar later on.
LOOG VS UKULELE?
Ukuleles are great! Many parents buy ukuleles because they want a small, easy-to-play guitar. But, unlike ukuleles, Loogs use regular guitar strings and standard guitar tuning, so they play and sound just like a guitar. And skills learned on the Loog can be transferred seamlessly to a 6- string guitar.
SHOULD WE INVEST IN A LOOG?
The decision to purchase an instrument is a BIG ONE! Loogs may be small, fun and cute, but they are not toys. They are real instruments, made out of real wood. And they sound great. If your child is registered in a Loog class, they are welcome to use one of Groove's Loogs during class time. However, they will progress more quickly with their skills if a Loog is available for them to play at home. We stock Loogs for purchase at Groove!
