Lesley is the proud mama of two young adults who both make music (her son is a technician and luthier at Eastman Guitars). Fun Fact: Lesley sang with Peter, Paul and Mary on The Phil Donahue Show in 1989. |
Lesley is a life-long musician raised in a musical family. She has over 25 years of experience as a working musician, music educator and curriculum builder, and advocate for arts education for all. During her 12-year arts management career, Lesley served as Director of Development for Jazz at Lincoln Center (with Wynton Marsalis), Playwrights Horizons and BRIC/Celebrate Brooklyn. Growing up in Stamford CT, Lesley studied violin from the age of 9 and voice from 14 years old. She holds a BMA in Voice Performance from the University of Michigan and an MFA in Performing Arts Management from Brooklyn College. She is proud to have performed with New York Choral Society and Chamber Singers, the Juilliard Choral Union, and the Boston University Tanglewood Institute Chorus. Currently, Lesley is a music specialist at the Brooklyn Music Factory, Kid's Base/Little School in Scarsdale and Co-op Summer Enrichment in Mamaroneck. Since 2018, Lesley has served as song leader for Sanctuary NY working alongside Rabbi Bethie Miller. In support of her musical work with children, she is dedicated to continuing education having completed Yoga in the Pre-School Classroom Training with Karma Kids (2024), Kid's Yoga Teacher Training at Yoga Haven (2020), Salsa Babies Teacher Training (2008) and, Music Together Teacher Training (1996). |
