WANTED: GROOVE CLASS LEADERS!
Gather. Groove. Grow. Since it's founding in 2005, Groove Family Music has committed to building community through music. This neighborhood family music studio is located in in Larchmont, NY, and an easy 10 minute walk from the Metro North station.
Groove seeks musicians and/or educators to LEAD Groove Jams for kids 3 months to 4 years accompanied by an actively participating grown-up. Groove Jams consist of 8-10 songs and activities from a Groove-curated collection. Coupled with instrument play, movement games, call and response and a free-style dance partywe aim to create a joyful, inclusive live music experience. Jams are 45-minutes long with 15 minutes between sessions to re-set and re-charge. Class leaders are be provided with training, lesson plan templates and themes, lead sheets/charts and rehearsal recordings. Excellent day-time opportunity for musicians, parents, theater people and early childhood educators.

WORK DATES/TIMES:
Groove is open year-round and follows the local school district schedule of holidays and vacation weeks. Groove Jams are offered Monday through Saturday mornings at 9:30, 10:30 and 11:30 AM. Each Class leader commits to a minimum of 1-2 mornings per week for (at least) a full season of 10-12 weeks. New class leaders shadow a seasoned teacher for one class/week for 4 weeks to learn the music and flow of the class. Class leader schedule will be determined based on availability and need.
STARTING COMPENSATION:
$50-60/class depending on previous experience

REQUIREMENTS:
Ideal candidates must:
- Be a strong singer able to accompany yourself on guitar
- Have some previous experience working with young children
- Love kids and be willing to get silly and be creative
- Be able to learn new songs quickly and share ideas
- Possess strong communication skills with grown-ups and kids
- Want to be part of a well-loved neighborhood music community
- Must have reliable transportation to/from Groove location.
