Do we need to wear masks?
Groove Jams in the Park: Masks are optional for vaccinated adults/teens and kids 3 years and up Masks are required for unvaccinated adults/teens
Groove Indoor Jams + Bands: Masks are required for everyone 3 years and older.
What happens if the weather is bad?
Groove Jams in the Park: In the case of extreme weather, your weekday outdoor class will be moved indoors. Your Saturday outdoor class will be re-scheduled. In either case, you may opt to schedule a make-up. You will be alerted by text/email that morning, or if possible, the night before.
Groove indoor Jams + Bands: In the case of extreme weather, classes may be cancelled and rescheduled at a later date. We typically follow the Mamaroneck School District closures. You will be alerted by text/email that morning, or if possible, the night before.
How do I schedule a make-up?
Groove JAM series If you need to miss a class for any reason during your session, please us the Make-up Scheduler to select a make-up class at your convenience. Make-ups do not roll over into the next session.
Groove Bands: Please e-mail Lesley if you need to miss a Band class. Together we will determine which Band day/time is appropriate for a make-up OR schedule a 15 minute 1:1 session to bring your child up to speed on missed learning.
Single JAM: If you need to re-schedule a single jam, you must send an email 24 hours in advance. Make-ups will not be issued for no shows. Make-ups do not roll over into the next session.
What's the deal with parking? Do I have to pay?
Yes, Larchmont has installed pay stations on streets and in lots that were previously free. However, there are many streets that do NOT require payment for two hour parking. This includes the downhill part of Addison Street (behind Groove) and the CVS parking lot. Please check the signs carefully!
What should I bring to class?
For all Bands: All materials and instruments will be provided.
For all JAMS: BYOI! Bring any musical instruments to the Jam that your child enjoys! We are not yet able to distribute and share small percussion instruments. You can purchase a sweet Groove pack full of our favorite hand-held percussion instruments HERE.
PLUS + in the Park: Please bring sunscreen, water, and a blanket to sit on. You may bring a chair but please be sure the kids can see over you. You can also bring a shade umbrella that can be securely tethered into the ground.
PLUS + at Groove: Just a reminder to please remove your shoes in our studio. Also, we ask that you park your stroller outside the studio and put all belongings in a cubby so that we can maximize the space for singing and dancing! Food is not allowed in the studio. For safety's sake, hot beverages are strongly discouraged.
Can I bring visiting adult family members to class?
Grandparents, parenting partners, etc. are welcome to come to class assuming they adhere to the mask recommendations. We respectfully request no more than 2 adults (total) attend with a single child.
Can I bring extra siblings to class?
Groove Jams in the Park: Siblings are welcome to visit our JAMS on occasion, but please email in advance! Drop-ins are strongly discouraged. The sibling fee is $15 which will be billed to your family account.
Groove Jams Indoors: Due to capacity limitations indoors, we may or may not be able to accommodate in a given class. Please reach out in advance to inquire. The sibling fee is $15 which will be billed to your family account.
Groove Bands: Due to the collaborative and cumulative learning during Bands, siblings visits are not recommended.
What is your refund policy?
A full refund is available prior to the start of the class, less a $25 administrative fee. After the session has started, families have until the second class to request a refund. You will receive a refund for the remaining classes less a $25 administrative fee and the cost of any materials. Please contact us as soon as possible as refunds will not be granted retroactively.
Why is someone taking photos?
On occasion, we photograph or video classes for promotional and archival purposes. When registering for a class at Groove, you give Barovick Arts, Inc. the right to use your child's image for said purposes. We will never use your child's name, age or other identifying factor. If you prefer to opt out, please the notify office via e-mail.
Do you offer discounts for siblings?
Siblings/Multiples in same Groove JAM (full series) receive 30% discount on registration Multiples in Groovy Baby (full series) receive 50% discount on registration Due to the small size of our Bands, no sibling discounts are available at this time.
