Music for Aardvarks was created in 1997 in Brooklyn, NY by rock musician/composer and father of three, David Weinstone. With influences of rock, blues, ballads, folk, jazz and pop, Aardvark songs uniquely reflect and celebrate the lives of children growing up today. The music is innovative, intelligent, and irresistibly appealing to both kids and their parents.  To date Weinstone has written and recorded over 200 Music for Aardvarks’ songs many of which are featured daily on

Winner, Best New Kids' Class, 2005

"Directed by Lesley Barovick, a classically-trained musician and mom of two young children (she headed up Lincoln Center’s jazz development efforts under Wynton Marsalis in a previous life), the Aardvarks program, featuring original rock, blues, and folk-influenced music and chants, free-form dance breaks, and instrumental jam sessions in a sunny, high-ceiling studio with a punchy purple floor, is a welcome alternative to traditional yawn-inducing alternatives.”  -- Westchester Magazine

"Just wanted to let you know that my daughter and I had a fabulous time with Pete and Johnny these last few sessions. The guys were fun and relaxed, and (of course) excellent musicians! I can’t tell you how many music classes we have taken over the past six years where this was not the case! I loved listening to Pete sing and Johnny on the sax. It truly was a treat for us both!" -- Madison’s mom
