Music for Aardvarks: MIXED AGES
A refreshing alternative to the traditional music class, Music for Aardvarks is totally unique, free-spirited and a rockin’ good time for kids and grown-ups alike. For kids 6 months through pre-school accompanied by an actively participating grown-up. Named "Best New Kids’ Class" by Westchester Magazine, 2005. "With its topical subjects and dizzying array of musical styles, Aardvarks has become something of a cult phenomenon among New York City hipsters..." Time Magazine.
Music for Aardvarks: BABY ROCK
You’re never too young to rock! A hip introduction to music, instruments and Music for Aardvarks. Most appropriate for babies from birth to pre-walking. Class size is limited to 12 babies and the grown-ups who love them. Proud grandparents and parenting partners are always welcome guests! Got twins under 10 months? Two attend for the price of one!
Music for Aardvarks: BIG KID
A 60-minute drop-off Music for Aardvarks class for pre-schoolers aged 3 through 5 years old. Get ready for big music, big drums and big fun! Designed for the imaginative minds and active bodies of older pre-schoolers. Introduces basic music concepts through interactive play. Class size is limited to 8 big kids.
Family JAM
Start your weekend off right with a Music for Aardvarks Family JAM! The ultimate dance party and jam session for kids aged 6 months through 5 years and their grown-ups. This pay-as-you-go class is designed for busy families who want to check out our vibe!
Groovy Mama Yoga
Mamas and their babies can find balance together in this post-natal yoga class. Moms practice yoga poses, both solo and with baby in tow, to help restore energy and build strength for the journey of motherhood! This class is best suited for mamas with non-mobile babies, but all are welcome. Our class leader is a new mom who is certified in pre- and post-natal yoga as well as yoga for kids and grown-ups.
Groove GLEE
Groove GLEE is a youth chorus designed to support and enrich your child's musical learning and help build community. Kids in grades 2 through 5 will learn how to use their voices healthily, build self-esteem and sing their hearts out! No previous experience is necessary, just a love of making music and the desire to learn.
Birthday JAM
You say it’s your birthday! We’re gonna have a good time. Celebrate your child's special day with your very own Birthday JAM at Groove. We dance, sing, jam and eat cake. Groovy. JAMs are available Wednesday, Friday, Saturday and Sunday and feature two talented Groove musicians. Call early to reserve your date!
Studio ART
Artist and educator Don Keene brings his STUDIO ART class to Groove! Each class will focus on an aspect of art-making that is integral to learning to see, design, draw and paint. A wide array of materials will be investigated including pencil, marker, pastel, collage, ink, and watercolor paint. Young artists, ages 7 to 10 years old, will learn the basics of art in a fun supportive environment. All materials are included in the class fee. Don is a member of the art faculty at Mamaroneck High School and has taught both children and adults.
Not-So-Preppy Playgroup
Aunt Crissie, a pre-school teacher turned a full-time caregiver to her niece, gathers unconventional caregivers and moms together for unconventional fun! Westchester Dads Meetup
Groove is happy to host a monthly music-making, friend-making good time for dads who rock (and the kids who love them!) The Westchester Dads Group gathers stay-at-home dads and work-at-home dads for playdates, field trips and a chance to meet and connect. NO FEE. Acoustic JAM
Groove hosts a monthly JAM in collaboration with The Westchester Acoustic Guitar Meet-Up. Although most participants play guitar, the group always welcomes bass, mandolin, keyboard, harmonica, tambourine, and singers. New members are welcome at any time, all levels. Teens and adults only.
